100%

Mahardhika House is a contemporary tropical residence designed by YPA Architecture Studio in 2024, located in Purbalingga, Central Java, with a 220 m² site area and an 80 m² building area. Its linear massing, transitional spaces, and surrounding greenery establish a fluid connection between the interior and exterior. Perforated brick screens serve as a defining architectural element, functioning as passive ventilation while filtering natural light, complemented by generous openings and interior screens that support cross-ventilation and distribute daylight throughout the house.

The spaces of Mahardhika House are shaped to capture air and daylight from multiple directions, creating a tropical dwelling that responds naturally to its climate. Open verandas, terraces, an inner garden, and productive vegetation such as papaya and citrus trees form layers of transition between architecture and landscape. Local materials, warm tones, and carefully positioned openings reinforce its passive design approach, creating a home where simplicity of form meets the continuous movement of light, air, and nature.
