Café Difabis Coffee & Bakery is a project that combines social and commercial functions on a small scale, located in the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office area. Designed by YPA Architecture Studio, the building stands on a 92.3 m² plot with the same floor area, showcasing spatial efficiency and inclusive design.
The café’s design stems from the idea of providing a friendly and accessible public space for all, including people with disabilities. The building’s mass emphasizes an asymmetrical gable roof with simple lines and pastel green colors that blend with the matte black metal roof, creating a modern and fresh visual contrast. The main materials used are lightweight steel and modular panels, chosen for their construction efficiency and to give a light and contemporary impression.
The wide openings along the façade allow for natural air circulation and maximum lighting into the space, reinforcing the concept of an open-air café that blends in with the park surrounding the mayor’s office. The interior features a combination of wood, metal, and rattan elements, creating a warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere for visitors.
The construction process by Barakaja Construction was carried out with attention to design details and accessibility standards, ensuring that this space is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional for all users.
